Reducing the structure bias of RNA-Seq reveals a large number of non-annotated non-coding RNA

Michelle S. Scott, an associate professor in the Department of Biochemistry at the University of Sherbrooke, and her group found
111 non-coding RNAs expressed in ovarian cancer cells SKOV3Ip1 using TGIRT-Seq that were previously unannotated. About 60% of these ncRNAs correspond to snoRNA and tRNA-like genes.
